How appropriate of Hyrul Anuar to appreciate all those who have helped him up with the production of his own baby in the form of an album named, ‘Sesebuah Perubahan‘. Before the appearance of the man-of-the-hour, first time album producer, Imran Ajmain also paid homage to the hardwork that has been put in by Hyrul himself which I find very befitting.

Hyrul went on a roll with finding his own sponsors with the production of the album for example. He even got in touch with Hotel Re! as the location for his album launch & Nabins as the location for his opening montage video shoot just to name a few.

Hyrul reminisced on the tough moments having to survive in Kuala Lumpur for the album recording. He returned the compliment to album producer Imran Ajmain & Faliq Jamadin, Imran’s Malaysian manager for their help during the album recording period.

He also did not forget the unsung heroes behind the production of the album, his fan club, The Hyrulites, his family members, Azni Samdin (his stylist) & PlayPause (designers to his album cover) just to name a few.

It has been 5 years since his Anugerah 2005 win. He’s been through many ups & downs. With the production of this album, its time Hyrul head on for a change, his album appropriately named. No point crying over spilt milk, a changed, reborn artiste is Hyrul Anuar.

Recently, he was on a recent Anugerah Skrin results show singing “Mata” from his newly released album. “Mata” sampled from a classic 80′s tune by Noorkumalasari. Written by Faliq Aizad & Aman Shah, arranged by Rafikoncept and produced by Imran Ajmain.

The album launch was hosted by Anugerah Skrin 2005 alumnus, Shah Iskandar who’s doing his trade now in Kuala Lumpur. Hydir Idris, a former Anugearh 2009 contestant, started off the show singing a medley of Hyrul songs, ‘Kesal‘ and ‘Tanda Kasih‘ to kick start the event.

Just goes to show how important family is.

While I was out earlier to @Office2010SG‘s Launch Party earlier on at *SCAPE Youth Park, I read tweets about @RozeKasmani‘s Media Launch last month being featured on @MediaCorp_Suria‘s JUS! held at Badoque Cafe.

With the kind invitation from Gumbira, I was at the media launch to promote her new single, “Harum” which has been on the airwaves now since the first debut on a Warna 94.2FM interview back in early April.

It’s been 5 weeks already since “Harum” debuted on the Ria 89.7FM charts. The highest the single, went on was No. 2, 3 weeks back. So fans, keep on requesting “Harum” to go up the charts.

“Harum” is actually a Malay version of an original composition by @ImranAjmain & @iamalyph called, “Perfume“. You can watch the original version also sang by @RozeKasmani back in 2006, in the video below:

Catering to the Malay music industry, “Perfume” has been re-written in Malay by @shahshamshiri, who is also known as the composer of Faizal Tahir‘s “Mahakarya Cinta“.

Apparently last night, my dad suddenly proposed the idea to us (since we’re all around today) for an early lunch together there. The stall closes right around after lunch time, which by then all the food would have gone to office workers’ stomachs(!!) Therefore, I had to force myself to wake up early this morning!

Words can’t describe the taste. Haha. Let the pictures do the talking.

First & foremost, my sincere thanks to @hidsalamat & @Indajamil for the invite to 32 Plus’ food tasting session. In the invite, it says 32 Plus is a halal zhi char (or zi-char?) restaurant. My first geek counteraction would be to Google it! My bad for not knowing what zhi char is! Haha!

Google returned GoodFood.SG (http://www.goodfood.sg/zhi_char) as the first returned result with the following summary:

An all-rounder Chinese food stall serving a wide variety of a la carte dishes usually with white steamed rice and soups. A zhi char stall usually has the highest sales turnover of the eating outlet that it occupies and thus forms the anchor tenant and main draw of the eating place, typically a coffeeshop. Also spelled ‘zhi cha’, ‘zi char’, ‘zi cha’, ‘cze char’, ‘tze char’; in Mandarin, 煮炒 (pinyin: zhu2 chao3) which literally means ‘cook & fry’, in reference to the de rigueur use of frying (almost always with woks) in preparing most dishes.

So apparently zhi-char are those a la carte dishes you see at Chinese stalls which is common around Singapore. Some fish dishes, some meat dishes & some vegetable dishes, etc. From the photo above, you can see the choice wouldn’t be as much as those you see at some Chinese stalls around probably since its a halal outlet, the range wouldn’t be that much. But its sufficient! (I didn’t get to taste the fish head @fallagain‘s talking above here!! =p)

I had to eat the meal slowly with the meat & all, because I was too scared the utensils would break on me! Haha! Okay lah, since its only the food tasting session. The food tastes nice of course, just the way I imagined it to be. Some spicy, some soupy, nothing extravagant, over-the-top. Interior-wise, the photographs of food, wall-mounted on the left side of the walls when you enter the restaurant looks pretty nifty!

I believe with competitive pricing, a wider range of food, some light music to spur on the ambience, trendy appeals, 32 Plus could be a competitor among the food outlets in the Kandahar Street row. More attractive, fun interior furnitures could be added bonus towards the appeal.

Looked up the address, the restaurant is located at the former Warung Lele Restaurant spot. For those who’ve been asking me on Twitter, 32 Plus is still not opened to the public yet but once it is has released its opening date (probably soon) I’ll keep it updated here.

I came to Raffles City Convention Centre without knowing what the talk was about. Started the day with a Starbucks Caffè Latte. When I reached the exhibition centre, was surprised to find it is actually a parenting seminar. Parenting.

Nevertheless, I did bring back a few useful tips about handling naughty kids. Spilling water on your laptop, throwing your iPhone on the floor would be a nightmare.

Some quotes I managed to tweet about earlier are:

Dr Tan gave an example of one of her patients. The parents gave the toddler child, pork floss everytime the child succeeds on something. In the end, the child will only eat pork floss. Instead of food with nutrients.

So where is the pork floss situated at home now?

Somehow I see the rationale behind Dr Tan’s quotes.

You can’t be telling your kids to eat vegetables, when you yourself don’t eat the green stuffs. That’s basically her point. To see change in the child, the parent has to be the change.

The event was graced by celebrity parents, Fly Entertainment‘s Wong Li Lin & Allan Wu.

The two of them shared their parenting experiences to host, Evelyn Tan. The question of the possibility of having a third child popped up. Allan chuckled as Li Lin heaved a loud no! Haha!

Mohd Idris, Shahril Kahar, Biwa Mastura & Mariah Mahfar was announced as the bottom 4 for the week.

After much wait, the group had to say goodbye to Mohd Idris & Mariah Mahfar this week.

The whole lot of us, had supper at Adam Road Food Centre after the show. I’m sure the Indian food stall got a huge payout from us when he took all of our orders at one go. Haha!

At the end of the night, the long awaited, the long planned, karaoke session happened! There was Netty Fiona, @eallyjolie, @dylalicious, @densabari, @izked, @PujanggaMalam, @daazd, @happymuzal & Edie Jonet. The biggest karaoke room at Bedok Central’s Cash Studio was huge! It was all singing, fun & laughter till the wee hours of Saturday morning.

“Tolong Makcik! Pakcik pengsan kat luar koridor tu!”

Apparently the knocks on our door got the attention of our row of units along our corridor. All the occupants of the 4 nearby units gotten out to help the uncle lying on the floor along the corridor.

What are the odds that he went unconscious right in front of a doctor’s house.

Good thing my neighbour is one and happen to be on morning shift yesterday and at home when the incident occurred.

My brother called the ambulance and within minutes, the paramedics team arrived with their equipments and stuffs. However one question the paramedic asked the Makcik about her husband somehow, hit a raw nerve.

“Makcik, does he have any prior medical history?”

In tears and distress, she answered:

“Everything. Heart attack, hypertension, diabetes, stroke, …, …”

Honestly, that was scary shit.

Furthermore, the two of them only live together with the maid at home. Their kids, all married, are mostly overseas, one a pilot, another is away overseas on an assignment. They’re good kids, no doubt. Sometimes we think what might become of us when we get older and the well being of our parents.

The incident made me think over about appreciating our loved ones now instead of being contempt about it and think we have our lives ahead of us.
